Fecafoot gate: Eto’o disavows Nkwain Valentine

The president of Victoria United, a Limbe-based newly promoted Elite One club in Cameroon, Nkwain Valentine, has said the voice in audio where he is heard talking with Fecafoot president, Samuel Eto’o Fils, is not his. He even threatened to take legal action against propagators.

But on July 19, 2023, Italian sport site, Gazzetta reported that Samuel Eto’o confirmed that the voice was his, adding, “I was talking to a friend, someone who invests in football and wants to make his club one of the best in Cameroon. I just reassured him by saying that I would have done everything possible to avoid refereeing errors against him”

Meanwhile, Amateur clubs want Etoo’o to resign over alleged match-fixing.
