Eto’o to take legal action against former campaign manager over published book
Barrister Elame Bonny Privat, Eto’o’s legal counsel, has announced that the FECAFOOT President intends to take legal action against his former campaign manager, Jean-Bruno Tagne.
The journalist is accused of tarnishing the FECAFOOT President’s image in his book published in December 2023.
“Anarchy, he wanted to give back Cameroonian football its vibrance” as the book is titled, presents several allegations against Samuel Eto’o, who has denied all claims.
Eto’o’s mandate which is now in its third year, has been confronted with controversy, involving accusations of corruption, match-fixing and dictatorship, that prompted several resignations.
Jean-Bruno Tagne was Eto’o’s campaign manager during the 2021 FECAFOOT elections. He dissociated himself from the federation, accusing the administration of diverting from its objectives.
The former Canal 2 journalist officially launched his book on February 14, 2024 at the Douala Grand Mall, drawing wide attention.
Eto’o has said he will sue the author and everyone that was involved in the production of the 260-page book.
