ELECAM members sworn in
18 members of the Electoral Board of Cameroon, ELECAM who were appointed and those whose mandates were renewed last July 12th 2022 by presidential decree have taken oath of office.
The swearing in ceremony presided over by the president of the Constitutional Council, Clément Atangana took place at the Yaoundé conference center this July 26th.
During the ceremony, Enow Abrams Egbe, Chairperson of ELECAM whose mandate was renewed, said his objective this time around will be to update the biometric system in order to facilitate the registration process of potential voters and consolidate the relationship the board has with its actors. These are mainly political parties, the civil society and the media so as to give more transparency to the electoral process in Cameroon.
Nga Gasper who was appointed member of the board said his objective as he joins the team is to ensure free and fair elections in Cameroon.
The board members have a 4 year mandate.
