MTN Elite One: Victoria United sanctioned, lose 4 points

By Arrey Egbe

Limbe base side Victoria United aka OPOPO has been sanctioned by the homologation and disciplinary commission of the Cameroon Football Federation, FeCaFoot, after failing to show up for their match against APEJES of Mfou.

The long-awaited resolution from the match was finally made known, as stipulated APEJES of Mfou have been given the match on green carpet (3-0) and awarded three points against OPOPO.

In addition to that, OPOPO lost 1 point in its table following the fraud during the match against UMS of Loum. They are now ranked 8 in their group with 7 points only.

However, these sanctions should normally increase – according to the statutes and regulations of the commission, in addition to the loss of match on the green carpet, and loss of points, Victoria United is supposed liable to pay a fine.

Meantime, the OPOPO has 5 days to appeal this decision.
