East: Gendarme killed by armed men
A member of the special Gendarmerie force, GPIGN, whose name CNA got as Ndogmo Zeuton has been shot dead by armed men.
Reports say the deceased was on patrol in Ndokayo, a few kilometres away from the Central african Republic frontier when they were attacked by four heavily armed men. Ndogmo died on the spot while his colleague is under intensive care in a hospital.
The assailants are said to be rebels from the Central African Republic who have been causing terror in the country and occassionally stepping into the Cameroonian territory as well.
Ndogmo Zeuton was an element of the Bertoua GPIGN unit on special assignment in the Zembe Borongo locality. Investigations have begun and it is hoped that the perpetrators of this act will be brought to book.
