Dschang: Two students drown in municipal lake while swimming

Two students of GTHS Dschang have drowned in the Dschang municipal lake in the Menoua Division of the West Region.
The two form one students tragically lost their lives while swimming in the lake after taking part in activities related to the FENASCO school games on Wednesday December 11, 2024.
According to locals, Kamta Forlan, mechanical engineering student, and his classmate whose identity remains unknown, decided to have a moment of relaxation at the lake but unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare.
“Trapped in a deep and dangerous area of the lake, one of the boys found himself in trouble. His friend, in an attempt to help him, also found himself trapped. Unfortunately, neither was able to escape the deadly waters of the lake, infamous for previous similar incidents” a local recounted.
The Dschang municipal police intervened by dispatching a diver who found the bodies of the two students.
