Death of Nguemo: Transport Minister lands heavy sanctions on driver, owner of vehicle
Following the death of former Indomitable Lions, Landry Nguemo in a road accident on June 27, 2024 along the Ebebda-Yaounde road, the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle, has withdrawn the driving licence of the driver and suspended him for five years.
Kana Sa’a Michel is accused of excess speed and poor overtaking that led to the death of the former midfielder and his driver.
The Minister also suspended the license of the car owner, Menne Djokou for three months.
Eleven of her cars were also restricted from circulating for three months while the car that was involved in the accident was given a one year restriction. All vehicles must be in conformity before the restriction will be lifted, the Minister said.
