CPDM: Muyuka section names Biya, 92, best option for upcoming elections

Muyuka, Cameroon – Militants and sympathisers of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM called on the party chair, Paul Biya to stand once again for presidential elections.

In different comments at a March 22 organized section conference in Muyuka, they said Biya who is 92 years old is the only candidate they can trust. Going by the section president who is Member of Parliament for Fako East, Hon. Findi Stanley Mokondo, their choice is the guarantor of peace.

Muyuka like the rest of the South West and North West regions has been entrapped in an 8 year-long socio-political conflict. Reports show that, Muyuka is the most hit subdivision in Fako. Where many have been killed, others have fled their homes, and properties destroyed.

The MP led section executives believe that Paul Biya who has been at the helm of state for over four decades is their sure bet. “President Paul Biya is our candidate in the upcoming elections, and we have resolved firmly, to do everything humanly, democratically, and transparently possible to ensure that he has a landslide victory come October,” Hon. Findi stated.

As at now, only the ruling CPDM, under whose umbrella the municipal authorities have their mandate is heard in Muyuka. Separatist fighters have allegedly instilled fear against any politically motivated actions in the area.
