Paul Biya unblocks reserve amid fuel scarcity

“I spent an hour trying to get one. As a taxi driver I have lost one good hour of my time and that is close to FCFA 5000 lose for the day. I don’t even know if I will work again, my spirit is down,” a Yaounde based driver told CNA.

Water and Energy Minister in a release said President Paul Biya has ordered the disbursement of money to facilitate the importation of petroleum products.

Gaston Eloundou added that the state spends FCFA 80 billion on fuel importation and more than 300 billion in a semester.

“28000 meters cube of super , 22000 meters cube of gasoil and 12500 meters cube of Jet a1 are already in circulation” he said.
