Councilor Albert Mukete Launches FCFA 25 Million Scholarship Scheme in Muyuka

Muyuka, July 16, 2025 – In a landmark gesture of support for youth empowerment and education, Councilor Albert Mukete of the Muyuka Council officially launched a scholarship scheme worth 25 million FCFA aimed at assisting 100 young students seeking admission into Excel University in fields of Marketing, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Project Management, and Human Resource Management.

The event took place at the Muyuka Council Deliberation Chamber, drawing the attention of students, parents, traditional leaders, and local authorities who hailed the initiative as timely and impactful. The scholarship program is designed to ease the financial burden of tertiary education for brilliant but underprivileged youths within the municipality.

In his keynote address, Councilor Mukete emphasized the importance of education in nation-building and reiterated his commitment to promoting human capital development in Muyuka. “Education is the most powerful tool we can give our children to shape a better future for our community,” he stated.

The selection process for beneficiaries, he added, will be transparent and merit-based, focusing on academic excellence and financial need.

The initiative has been widely praised as a step toward reducing school dropout rates and fostering higher education opportunities for young people in the region.
