Coq Sportif matter, FECAFOOT finally speaks!
The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has finally made a statement on the Coq Sportif problem.
The federation, through their lawyer Florian Mbayen-Hebga, has explained why they put an end to their contract with the French kit supplier. In a statement released this August 9th 2022, FECAFOOT explains that they were shocked to see Le Coq Sportif use social media platforms to air their grievances and even disrespect the confidentiality clauses they had signed with the federation.
It is equally said in this release that the contract stipulated that the non-respect of clauses by both parties could lead to cancellation of the contract. According to FECAFOOT, Le Coq Spotif failed to make payments as they normally should according to their contract. Tired of waiting 60 days later, although the contract did not oblige FECAFOOT to wait that long for payment, the federation, in agreement with their contract decided to look for a new supplier.
A paragraph in this same release says that after failing to pay the amount agreed upon, the french company had attempted talking to the FECAFOOT Secretary General to convince him that nothing wrong was going on whereas he is not fit to talk on behalf of the federation on such matters.
