CONAC reveals education sector most corrupt
The National Anti-Corruption Commission, CONAC, has revealed that the education sector remains one of the most corrupt in Cameroon with an index of 7.3/10.
Just weeks before the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, CONAC has launched a 9-day corruption free back to school campaign. The launch was done this August 23rd in Bertoua by CONAC President Rev Dr Dieudonne Massi Gams with the region’s Governor Grégoire Mvondo in attendance.
CONAC notes that the greatest peak of corruption in the sector is during the back-to-school period with parents paying huge sums of money to secure admission for their offspring.
In an effort to stop this practice, CONAC says they have chosen to sensitize the public on the ills of such practices and restore the integrity of the education sector.
