13 arrested for attack on Wum motorised infantary unit

The 13 men, all ex-convicts, are alleged to have participated in the attack on the motorised infantry batallion in Wum in 2016, before heading to the Littoral region to continue their operations.

Aged between 22 and 42, they were caught in possession of 54 ammunitions, 2 M21S guns, knives, machetes, 3 passports, 12 mobile phones and 6 birth certificates. It is alleged the M21S guns belonged to elements of the naval base in Douala who were attacked while on guard on the night of July 3-4 2022.

Assault riffles were found in their possession

The gang head Francis Nforneh Ngwa was arrested in the Bois de Singe vicinity in Douala by elements of the Moungo North gendarmerie brigade and his arrest led to the finding of his accomplices dispersed in Bandjoun, Mbanga and Souza on August 8 2022.

They have been presented to the press in Nkongsamba, Moungo division of the Littoral region and will be judged at the military court in Douala.
