CNA Sports roundup: PWD and YOSA get new coaches

CAF Inter-club Competition

Cameroon’s continental representatives at the CAF inter-club competitions preliminary rounds have been made made known.

Coton Sports of Garoua, league winners and Cameroon’s representative at the CAF Champions League will face Matlama FC of Lesotho.

In the CAF Confederations Cup competition, PWD of Bamenda, Cameroon Cup winners will represent the country and will face ELGECO Plus of Madagascar.

First leg games will be played between September 9-11, 2022 and return leg games between September 16-18, 2022.

Cameroon this August 9th won two bronze medals in athletics.

Nora MONE and Linda Angounou were third in the women’s discus and in the women’s 400m hurdles.

In collective sports, the handball lionesses defeated Iran 42-29 while in volleyball, the Cameroon ladies crushed Afghanistan 3 sets to 0.

PWD get new coach

Experienced fullback Eric Enjenwei Api, has joined PWD of Bamenda on a one year deal from Astres of Douala according to a statement from the club.

The 2017 Cameroon Cup winner with New Stars of Douala, is expected to bring more quality to the squad especially as it prepares for continental challenges in the nearest future.

YOSA sign new coach

The Yong Sports Academy media unit has confirmed the signing of a deal with Coach Anumewa Franklin.

In a publication from the unit on social media, we can read:

“The management of Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda is pleased to announce to all their fans/supporters that the team has secured the services of coach Anumewa Franklin who joins the team on a one-year contract as Assistant Coach”

Coach Anumewa Franklin is expected to bring in a lot of experience to the technical staff for the 2022/2023 football season. YOSA missed relegation last year and is expected to ameliorate its performance this season.
