CAF Interclub competitions
Coton Sports of Garoua and PWD of Bamenda will know their continental opponents this Tuesday. CAF has announced that the draws for the 2022-2023 preliminary round of the Champions League and the Confederations Cup will be done this Tuesday, August 9th 2022 in Cairo, Egypt at 4PM local time.
Two teams will represent Cameroon at the competition. Coton Sports, league winners will take part in the Champions League while PWD, Cup champions will play in the Confederations Cup.
Football: FIFA women’s rankings.
The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have regressed to the third spot on the African continent and are ranked 59th worldwide.
The new numbers can be found in the latest FIFA women’s Coca-Cola rankings released this August 5th 2022. A ranking dominated worldwide by the USA. On the African continent, Nigeria still leads meanwhile South Africa with her recently won AFCON, comes second.
Champions Cup and Ballon D’or soon in Cameroon
Fecafoot president Samuel Eto’o Fils has announced the organization of a champion’s cup and a Ballon D’or ceremony in the nearest future in Cameroon.
During the concertation meeting held last Thursday in Yaounde, between FECAFOOT and major football stakeholders, one of the major announcements made was the birth of a Champion’s cup that will be played between league winner and the Cameroon Cup winner. This first edition will be played on October 12, 2022. On the same day, a Ballon D’or ceremony will be organized to compensate the season’s best in Cameroon. The 2022/2023 football season begins on October 15th and ends in April 2023.

Centre region wins FENASCO League A games 2022
The games ended last Saturday August 6th in Mvomeka’a, South region with a closing ceremony attended by Pr Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, minister of Sports and Physical Education and Pauline Nalova Lyonga of the Secondary Education ministry.
After a week of competition, the centre region over powered the 9 other regions with a total of 58 medals: 28 gold, 11 silver and 19 bronze.
The Far North with 34 medals came second and the East closed the podium. The North West, Littoral and South West regions finished at the bottom with totals of 5, 14 & 15 medals respectively.
