CNA signs MoU with Russia’s Sputnik News

Limbe, Cameroon – November 13, 2024– Cameroon News Agency (CNA) and Russia’s Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency, better known as Sputnik, have announced a strategic partnership.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed virtually today by Cameroon News Agency and Russia’s Sputnik News. CNA was represented by the Executive Editor, Nfor Hanson Nchanji, and the Political Affairs Editor, Ngala Hansel. Nfor Hanson Nchanji signed the MoU on behalf of CNA while the Director of the International Cooperation Directorate, Vasily Pushkov signed on behalf of Sputnik News.
This partnership aims to enhance news exchange and cooperation between the two agencies. Both parties will prioritize coverage of national, regional, and international events of mutual interest.
Sputnik will continue to provide training opportunities for CNA journalists, both online and in-person, focusing on areas such as AI, social media, and news writing.
“This strategic alliance marks a significant step forward for both agencies, allowing us to expand our reach, deepen our understanding of global events, and provide our audiences with more comprehensive and diverse news coverage,” CNA’s Nfor Hanson Nchanji said.Vasily Pushkov said: “The signing of the MoU with CNA was a logical continuation of the ongoing cooperation that has seen journalists from the agency visit Moscow as part of the SutnikPro project. This document will contribute to making the voice of the global majority clear and distinct on the world stage”.
CNA will provide news content in Cameroon to Sputnik, while the Russian agency will share its global news coverage with the Cameroonian audience. This is the second major partnership of Cameroon News Agency in a year.
