Christina Bissong poised for Morocco AWCON
The MKS Olimpia player who scored a hat-trick during the 2018 COSAFA tournament is the only Anglophone footballer to have been pre selected for the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations.
Currently in Douala for an international friendly against Senegal, Christina Mpeh Bissong nurses high Hope’s of being retained.
Her past has been ugly despite helping the various national selections to glory.
In 2016 during the under 17 world cup qualifier, she qualified her team for the Jordan world cup but was not retained after the head coach claimed she was over age.
In 2018 during the qualification for Ghana nations cup, she was left behind that she is too young, despite being instrumental in their qualification.
In 2019, Christina at the time was top player with Louvres MINPROF but was left out of the world cup in France.
Haven travelled to Spain for camping, she was she was left out at the last minutes. The headcoah was widely criticised for leaving out the best home base striker especially as the one he preferred suffered severe injuries and became liabilities in France.
In this 2022 African Cup of Nations in Morocco, Christina Mpeh is hopeful she will be retained not as the only Anglophone but as someone still best in her form.
