Inhabitants of Messondo, a locality in the Nyong and Nkelle Division of the cenre region, are complaining about the deplorable state of roads.
The natives, mostly farmers, complain of the bad farm-to-market roads and broken bridges, making it very difficult for them to transfer their agricultural produce to the markets.
Markets and developmental projects in their locality have completely been abandoned, the Mayor told the newly installed SDO, Kwela Norbert Valerie.
” Our greatest expectation is for the development of our community, our job is to create more projects for the good of the community. We plead with the SDO to take these projects to the government for its realization,”. Tonye Tonye Omaman, Messondo council Mayor explained.
Besides bad roads, poor infrastructural developments and neglected health facilities were some of the significant challenges presented to the newly installed SDO of the Nyong and Nkelle Division.
The SDO said he is conscious of their needs, promising to work together with the population to develop the community.
“ We have seen the bad roads, I am conscious, together with the Mayor, the divisional delegate of the Ministry of Public Works we shall work together to ameliorate the situation of the people,” he said on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, during a ceremony to officially take over the administrative unit.
