CDC workers demand payment of accrued wages
Workers of the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC) took to the streets on Tuesday, November 12, in Tiko, South West region, demanding for their unpaid wages.
The protesters in hundreds having plants in their hands, also feel the CDC General Manager should be fired. They chanted, “Njei Franklin must go” as the walked the streets.
The CDC GM has been recipient of several local awards and recognitions this year alone—according to organisers, for his service at the helm of the institution.
A placard planted before the CDC office demanded the payment of 55 months of unpaid wages. Several others read, “CDC workers we want arrears salary”.
The corporation which is the largest employer in the country after the state, has been facing several setbacks. Which are not disconnected from the eight year unfolding conflict in the North West and South West regions.
