Cameroon receives 110 million for boreholes in centre region

The money from the South Korean government will serve in the construction of boreholes in the Lobo, Edzendouan, Soa and Mengueme sub divisions of the Centre region.

The target villages in these sub divisions will have a 1000m3 borehole steam powered by solar energy that will be connected to 3 taps with each having a 300m capacity to serve neighbouring communities.

The project expected to be completed in one year: 6 months construction and 6 months test-use will according to the minister of economy, planning and regional development ameliorate the lives of some 2000 people and improve the fight against waterborne diseases.

This is not the first time Cameroon receives financial aid from the government of South Korea. Recently, they got F CFA3.685 billion to construct and rehabilitate water infrastructures in Matomb, Massock, Ebebda and Koutaba.

Note that commercial deals between Cameroon and South Korea stood at F CFA180 billion in 2021.
