Cameroon now has no representative at CAF’s continental competitions this season
The lone Cameroonian club, at the CAF champions league, Coton Sports of Garoua has been beaten at home by AS Real of Bamako on Sunday August 27, 2023.
Two goals to nil in the return leg of the first round of the CAF champions league preliminaries, were enough to stop the Northerners after a fruitles 0-0 draw in Mali.
The means the team has been eliminated from the competition. This elimination implies Cameroon will not have a representative at the continental level after FECAFOOT and CAF denied Bamboutos of Mbouda the CAF license.
The Cameroon league holder in this way becomes one of the worst teams at the CAF competitions after they lost all group matches in last year’s champions league.
