Cameroon Constitutional Council Announces Biya Winner of Presidential Election

Incumbent Paul Biya was declared the winner of the 2025 presidential elections, with 53.66%, the Constitutional Council announced. This comes after long weeks of malpractices, rigging, and arrests.
This came a day after the opposition leader, ISSA TCHIROMA BAKARY, called on Cameroonians to protest against the Council’s biased proclamation.
At least six died and more than 100 were arrested across Cameroon,, with officials saying those arrested were vandals.
The Constitutional Council said the opposition leader and former Minister, Bakary, had 35.19%
