Cameroon’s search for a new national team coach has made headlines in recent weeks, with the stakes as high as ever ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Reports from Jeune Afrique reveal that former Indomitable Lions AFCON 2017 winning coach, Hugo Broos is being considered for the role. Meanwhile, ANTONIO CONCEIÇAO is also rumored to be one of the candidates on Cameroon’s list for head coach.

However, reputable specialised football journalist Richard Naha reports suggest that Conceicao has not received any contact from Cameroon regarding the position.

The absence of a coach on the national team roster became apparent when Coach Rigobert Song’s contract entered its deadline without an extension.

It is evident that Cameroon is keen to make the right coaching choice after a period of turmoil as the ministry of sports already assigned the Cameroon football fédération to suggest 3 profiles.
