Cameroon: Canada donates medical equipment worth about 133M
The government of Cameroon has received a consignment of medical and monitoring equipment comprising 1900 electronic blood pressure monitors, 1900 blood glucose meters, 270 tablets, and 310 smartphones worth about FCFA 133 million from the High Commission of Canada to Cameroon.
This is said to be part of Canada’s signature Global Initiative for Vaccine Equity (CanGIVE) project.
Lorraine Anderson, High Commissioner of Canada to Cameroon says the equipment will strengthen vaccination in the East, the Far North, the North-West, and the South-West regions.
“The rate of the spread of the virus has decreased but it’s still important to make sure that children, those with co-mobility are vaccinated. We are happy to have donated these things that will assist in the collection of data regarding the level of vaccination as well as to support these activities,” she stated.
