Cameroon-born Rebecca Enonchong promoted to the Royal Academy of Engineering

US-based Cameroon-born, Rebecca Enonchong has been promoted to the United Kingdom’s Royal Academy of Engineering. The announcement by the British High Commission in Cameroon states that this is in recognition of the technology entrepreneur’s contributions to technology.


Enonchong is one of the most followed women on Twitter in Africa, with more than 30,000 followers.
She is the founder of AppsTech, based in the US state of Maryland.
Enonchong was named by the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader for Tomorrow (GLT) alongside other tech entrepreneurs such as the co-founder of Google, Larry Page.
In March 2014, Forbes magazine listed her as one of the top 10 Female Tech Founders to Watch in Africa.

Her name will now be written with the abbreviation FReng beside it which stands for “Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering” and is written next to the names of all those who get admitted as fellows into the Academy.


Admission into the Royal Academy of Engineering is reserved for outstanding tech achievers.
