Armelle Tchoulegheu, a player for the Galactique Football Association (GFA) in the women’s D2 league, has reportedly come forward to shed light on the disturbing issue of harassment by her fellow players.
Tchoulegheu revealed, “They flirt with us to lick us. They very often sent me videos via Facebook of how they make love… It’s very serious. Each time, they make advances at me to the point of sending me nudes.”
Speaking about a recent incident during a friendly match, she recounted, “There was a center forward from the opposing team who actually made advances at me in the middle of the match. She made comments to me like ‘pretty goalkeeper, you’re a very beautiful goalkeeper’. Then she asked me if ‘I’d like to be her girlfriend.'”
The alarming revelations highlight a systemic issue within the league, where players are subjected to harassment and inappropriate behavior.
Tchoulegheu went ahead to disclose the impunity with which such actions are carried out, stating, “They are no longer afraid of the law. Once you refuse to be with them, they hold a grudge against you.”
The GFA and relevant authorities have been urged to take swift and decisive action to address this concerning issue and ensure the safety and well-being of all players within the league.
