Bui : Self-styled general at large, colleagues want him punished for molesting civilians
“General” Shiyntum Augustine who is allegedly notorious for harassing the population at Squares – Kumbo, Bui Division in the North West region.
On Thursday, July 7, 2022, after the Diaconate ordination in the Kumbo Cathedral, the Ambazonia fighter, Shiyntum stormed the Samba Nite Klob area and started harassing civilians, CNA learned.
“He went into bars around the Nite Klob breaking and crushing customers’ beer. He also molested and threatened to kill,” a Kumbo denizen who has knowledge of the incident narrated.
Frustrated by the act, some of the victims alerted his colleagues who came in late as “General” Shiyntum had fled for his dear life.
A manhunt has been launched for the arrest of the said general to face justice. reports also have it that the said fighter and his followers are interested in harassing and abducting civilians in return for a ransom, seizing their phones, and closing the town at 6 pm.
General Augustine Shiyntum is also noted for abducting Masquerades in the Ngiri and Nwerong societies in the Banso Palace for not respecting circulation bans.
Shiyntum allegedly tortured and killed 5 civilians in his camp, recently. His last victim was a native from Donga Mantung whom he tortured, killed, and tied a rope around his nake to fake a suicide.
