Biya publishes circular showing axes of 2023 budget
The 2023 state budget will take into account the effective implementation of the nation’s economic, social and cultural development policies and combat the economical effects Cameroon is suffering as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
In a 10-point circular addressed by the President of the Republic to the Prime Minister, Ministers of state, Ministers, Ministers Delegate and Governors this August 23rd, Paul Biya clearly specifies the macro-economic context, defines the objectives of public action, lays down general budget policy orientations as well as practical measures for preparing the 2023 state budget.
The Interdepartmental Program Review Committee (IPRTC) is now expected to review and validate programs proposed by departments without going into financial details before the preparation of the finance bill followed by its transmission to the Prime Minister’s Office.
