Bilingualism and Multiculturalism Commission Tasks Stakeholders To Fight Hate Speech
The National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism headed by former Prime Minister, Peter Mafany Musonge has intensified its fight against hate speech and xenophobia by consulting other stakeholders to make its ongoing sensitisation efficient.
The commission on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, met with stakeholders in the communication sector and heads of state institutions amongst them members of the civil society and mobile telephone operators at the Yaoundé conference centre.
The aim of the meeting chaired by its president Peter Mafany Musonge was to seek lasting solutions to end hate speech in the society.
Despite a law punishing those propagating hate speech in Cameroon, many are still seen walking free on streets after their continuous propagation of hate speech on social media.
