Bangem widows receive Christmas gifts

About fifty widows selected from 14 villages in Bangem Sub Division in the South West region have received money, rice, cooking oil, packets of Maggi cubes, powder, and tablets of soap for Christmas.
The gifts were handed to the widows at Bangem Council hall on Sunday, December 18, 2022, by Etake Divine Ngaaje, Cameroon representative of ECOM COCOA, and his wife, Mbole Pamela épse Ngaaje.
Speaking during the ceremony, Etake, a son of the division said he was moved to reach out to widows because he understands their plight. He said during Christmas when many people are celebrating, most widows are crying in their closets. He recalled the trauma his mother as a widow used to undergo during such periods and send him to school. Etake encouraged the widows to be strong, confident, and happy always.
“If God has kept you alive, it is for a purpose. There are better days ahead, even without your husbands, know that God is your husband.” He comforted them.
The donor, thanked the Director of the Women Empowerment Center, Bangem, Agnes Senge for mobilizing the widows at very short notice. Meanwhile, Mbole urged the widows to continuously pray for them for God’s blessings so that they can give more.
She said donating to them is an answer to their cries and secret prayers. Pastor Meduke Ernest Ebong of The Apostolic Church Mile One Kumba, exalting from 1 Timothy 5:3 of the Holy Bible, appreciated Etake and his wife for the gifts. He told the widows to make their relationship with Jesus strong, and be prayerful always because the prayer of a widow is powerful. The Divisional Officer of Bangem Sub Division, Felix Kanga lauded the Etakes for always supporting the downtrodden in the division. He recalled that severally, they have been donating to orphans widows, and youths, and promoting sports in the division.
Kanga promised administrative support to all their activities in Bangem Sub Division. On behalf of the widows, Ewane Veronica Ntube from Ekaku village thanked the donors for wiping their tears. She said in the midst of hardship, they will spend Christmas with joy. The widow prayed to God to bless the Etakes abundantly. From Bangem, the couple moved to Nkikoh, their village, to also put smiles on the faces of their people.
