Babadjou: Movements banned after 8 pm, more bikes offered Vigilante to fight separatists
Movements and drinking in Babadjou, West region, have been banned from 8 pm daily.
The decision was taken by administrators during the first semester administrative and security coordination meeting for 2022 in the Bamboutos division. The senior divisional officer for Bamboutos François Franquelin Etapa, signed the decision.
During this meeting that gathered all four divisional officers in the Bamboutos, the administrative, economic, political, security, and socio-cultural situations of the division were reviewed. The general remark from the meeting was positive, despite security threats from suspected separatist fighters from the neighboring crisis-hit regions of Cameroon.
Forces of law and order and vigilante groups were saluted for their bravery in containing the security challenges so far and especially in the locality of Babadjou. Some four new bikes were handed over to vigilante groups to encourage them and facilitate their movements.
It was also decided that drinking spots in the Babadjou subdivision should close by 8 pm and the movement of bikes banned from 8 pm to 5 am in zones bordering the North West and South West regions.
