ASAF Cameroun appoints award-winning writer, Djaili Amal, goodwill ambassador

ASAF CAMEROUN FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF DJAILI AMAL AMADOU AS GOODWILL AMBASSADOR.
Yaounde (Cameroon), 12, December 2024 — ASAF Cameroun is proud to announce the appointment of Djaili Amal Amadou, award-winning writer and committed women’s rights activist, as its first Goodwill Ambassador. This appointment marks an important milestone in the foundation’s mission to fight exclusion and poverty, and promote child protection and community development.
A distinguished writer who has won many awards, notably for her book “Les impatientes” which received the 2020 Goncourt Prize for High School Students, Djaili Amal Amadou has dedicated her career to advocating for and fighting against violence towards women and for access to education for all, especially for young girls.
“I am delighted to be working with ASAF Cameroun and to be able to carry out these charitable actions in the fields of education, child and maternal protection and women’s autonomy and emancipation.” declared Djaili Amal Amadou, Goodwill Ambassador of ASAF Cameroun.
“Djaili Amal Amadou was the perfect fit, as she is a national symbol for protecting women’s rights and promoting education. We hope that this collaboration will enable ASAF Cameroun to amplify its actions and help even more disadvantaged people,” stated Eran Moas, founder of ASAF Cameroun.
As a Goodwill Ambassador, Djaili Amal Amadou will be essential in implementing the Foundation’s actions. She will support events dedicated to education access, notably through scholarship programs, school donations, and initiatives to benefit educational establishments across Cameroon. She will also propose concrete projects to support women in crises situations, thus contributing directly to the Foundation’s objectives.
ASAF Cameroun will provide financial support for the libraries opened by Djaili Amal Amadou in Maroua and Douala as part of this partnership. A “Maison de la Femme” project is also under study. This will provide a space to welcome and support women who have suffered domestic violence, enabling them to rebuild their future. Finally, 12 million CFA francs a year will be made available for Djaili Amal Amadou’s philanthropic work.
