Amougou Belinga bank accounts frozen for debts worth over 17 billion

The owner of the Anecdote group, Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga, received a letter this May 9 from the Directorate General of Taxation saying he owes F CFA 17 billion 842 million 604 thousand and 593 in taxes. This, the letter said, is the reason money will be taken out of his accounts at the BGFI, Afriland and SCB banks in Cameroon as well as general treasury or simply put, the accounts will be frozen.

This comes just after information filtered that Amougou Belinga was planning on suing certain workers of the taxation office for attempting to defraud the business man. The taxation office is first to strike with this official letter.

Amougou Belinga and his team are yet to make an official statement on the issue although sources say workers of the directorate of taxation are accusing him of creating scandals to avoid paying his debts.

Amougou Belinga recently got married to his third wife Melissa Etoundi Belinga in a very lavish ceremony which was attended by numerous celebrities
