D.O. suspends all activities at the Biyem-assi stadium
The divisional officer for Yaounde VI, Joseph Alain Etoundi has suspended all activities at the Biyem-Assi stadium.
This decision is contained in a release dated July 15 2022. The D.O. explains that this is a safety measure for patients and health workers of the Biyem-assi district hospital who have been attacked numerous times by vandals who use the stadium as base. Moreover, cases of suspected intrusion into the health structure have been reported countless times and suspects are said to come from this same stadium.
This is not the first time cases of vandalism have been reported in the neighborhood. In September 2014, the council was burgled and the sum of F CFA 350.000 taken away by unidentified men and the security guard was molested. In 2021, a student was found in a pool of his own blood after being attacked by unknown persons.
