Ambazonia Fighters Kill At Five Gov’t Forces In Ngalim, Seize Weapons
The Ambazonia fighters who call themselves, The Marines of Bambalang, operating in Ngoketundjia division, northwest region, presented a video early Friday with more than 10 weapons, said to have been seized from Gendarmes in Menfoung, Ngalim in the West region, killing at least five government forces and many others wounded, on Thursday, April 29, 2021, CNA has gathered from several sources.
“They entered in Ngoketundjia and took three of our innocent civilians, so we followed them to take back the civilians,” one fighter narrates in the video.
Paul Nilong, Interim Government’s, media coordinator of the Defense Department, told CNA that they attacked the brigade because elements had arrested three civilians in Ngoketundjia.
“They took three civilians yesterday, so these guys had to go for a counteroffensive, attacked the barracks, and released the civilians and got those materials, that’s all, ” he said in an audio message in response to findings from our desk.
CNA sources in Bafoussam said three injured government forces who survived the attack were brought last night for urgent medical attention.
Displaying the battle trophy, they also presented the hand of a commander, said to have been chopped off during the attack. They brought back Military weapons; two chain cutters, two Mag4, five Bguns, gun proofs, helmet, and bags.
The Defense Ministry has not made any statement yet on the exact the situation.
This is the second biggest attack launched Ngalim. On March 7, 2020, The Marines attacked another Gendarmerie Brigade in Ngali, West region, accusing them of torture, harassment of civilians in Ngoketundjia.
Communication Minister, Rene Sadi condemned the attacks and called on the international community to bear witness to the deaths of four government forces and four civilians.
