After rejecting Cameroon, basketballer, Joel Embiid gets rejected by French basketballers
The NBA star who is almost completing a French nationality has expressed his desire to play for the Blues basketball team. But according to RMC Sport, some basketballers did not want him.
“In the federations, we work hard to make young people work and I think it lacks a little authenticity when you do things like that. I’m not a big fan of seeing Slovenia or Croatia with Americans. In the national team, you would have to play with the players of the country, who grew up there,” Tony Parker told L’Équipe at the time. RMc Sport revealed.
Another player, Fournier who plays for the Knicks said it would be better for Embiid to play for Cameroon and represent his country because he is not french and does not belong.
However, RMC revealed on Tuesday that the France team is getting closer to the Philadelphia 76ers upon his naturalization as French.
This move shows that Embiid, like many other athletes, has decided not to represent his country Cameroon. Others who represented later naturalized in other European countries.
Cameroon has failed to honor athletes that have brought glory to the nation. From Francoise Mbango to Aureole Ndogmo, they are all gone for greener pastures, at least, where they will be honored and celebrated.
