After festive season, Yaounde schools vibrate to second term rhythm

Thousands of students and pupils have regained the roads to school after the Christmas and new year break which they had on December 22, 2023 in the political capital city Yaounde.
At the College Notre Dame de Victoire of Yaounde located in the Mvog-Ada district, in the middle of the parish, the tall gates were opened for the second term, with hundreds answering the second term bell.
Classes resumed effectively with students and teachers setting up objectives which will help them this term get positive results.
During his end of year speech, President Paul Biya, gave teachers an ultimatum to stop striking and engage in constructive dialogue. Adding that more than 72 billion was disbursed to cover expenses in 2023, yet they have been striking and paralyzing school activities.
Teachers on their part had already begun fulfilling their duties as early as 7:30 Tuesday morning.
“The school resumption on today has been very timid given the fact that students are still distracted but nevertheless as teachers we’re doing our best to ensure that students get back to the school milieu. Considering the fact that our schools is very organized, I started classes hitch free with “Premier C” equivalent to lowersixth science in the Anglo-Saxon. The major problem is that there are still some students who still have the heads unclear which distract them and others find it difficult to recall what they did in the first term but we’re doing our best to bring them back.” Cynthia NGUEFOR the English Language lecturer of the college said.
While beginning this new term, school authorities confirmed that they remain focused on their global objectives despite the harsh weather conditions witnessed these days as confirmed by Aline Rosette Marie Amogo the principal of College Notre Dame de Victoire.
The second term of the 2023/2024 school year is already underway. Nevertheless some students had deliberately chosen to stay at home enjoying what they call “an extra holiday”.
