After Ambazonian ban, North West governor says CEMAC number plates compulsory
The ban on CEMAC number plates was announced by the separatist group, Ambazonia Governing Council, AGovC.
The ban was expected to begin in June 2022.
Two weeks into the announcement, governor Lele L’Afrique Adolphe observed that city dwellers were respecting the Ambazonian order.
According to a circular warning drivers who respect this move, the governor said he was surprised that, ” more and more vehicles were circulating within the north west region with illegal, anonymous or even fanciful licence plates”
Adolphe Lele L’Afrique has asked Senior Divisional Officers to implement this circular by instructing security forces to carry out massive controls throughout the region.
Civilians at crossroad
This measures will once again put civilians in the North West region st crossroad with the belligerent in the ongoing armed conflict in Anglophone regions.
A faction of the Ambazonian groups fighting to restore the state of Southern Cameroons said they were going to reinforce their ban with military actions.
