AFCON 2023: Coaches Song will face in the group stage

Indomitable Lions’ head coach Rigobert Song will face three other coaches in group C of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
He will take on Kaba Diawara of the Guinea national team who is a former player for PSG and Arsenal.
In the 2023 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers, his team finished second in group D with 10 points, scoring 9 goals and conceded 7 throughout the 6 matches played. They won 3 matches, drew 2, and lost 1.
Rigobert song will also go up against Aliou Cisse, the head coach of Senegal who led his team to finish first in the qualifiers with 14 points.
They scored 12 goals and conceded 4 throughout the 6 matches played, winning 4 and drawing 2.
Next is Tom Saintfiet who is head coach of Gambia with Belgium nationality.
He finished the qualifiers as second in their group behind Mali with 10 points. He played 6 matches, won 3, drew 2 and lost 1, scoring and conceding 7 goals.
Rigobert Song on his part played 4 games in the AFCON qualifiers, won 2, lost 1 and drew 1. He scored 6 and conceded 3 gaining 7 points and qualified first from their group.
