Adamawa: 21 year-old arrested for kidnap
The suspect aged 21 is said to have kidnapped a 7 year-old boy on July 12th 2022.This happened in Sabongari, a locality in the Mbéré division in the Adamawa region. sources say he asked for a ransom of F CFA 500.000.
Going by reports from elements of the Meiganga Gendarmerie Brigade, the suspect killed his victim 24 hours after kidnapping him and was caught when he went to collect the ransom from his victim’s father on July 31st 2022 in Tibati.
The suspect whose name has not been disclosed is being detained at the Gendarmerie unit for further findings while a search has been launched to trace the whereabouts of other missing children in the locality.
The National Gendarmerie has urged parents to be very vigilant during this holiday season and call the toll free number 113 in case of distress for the safety of children.
