Accused of usurpation, Business woman, Ivana, says she is victim of circumstance

It had been a bombshell on the social media space especially Facebook which is very popular in Cameroon. A businesswoman popularly known as Ivana Chef d’etat, has been accused of usurpation and impersonation.

Police at the Douala fourth district arrested a suspect specialised in imitating voices of personalities and signing fake documents for their selfish intentions. The man who passes for the President of the Mbalmayo was tracked and found in jail- a prisoner in Douala. He confessed working with Miss Ngo Job alias Ivana Chef D’etat.

At the fourth Police district, he confessed that during their dubious activities, they will call Police Commissioners and asked them to arrest someone. In some occasions they will send a fake document allegedly signed by the State Attorney on Nyong SOO, in the centre region. The said State Attorney’s signature and other details are used by the gang.

Several actors in the showbiz sector in Cameroon are said to be in the same list of victims.

Reacting to the allegations, Ngo Job alias Ivana Chef d’etat, Malam said she is just a victim being defamed by her detractors.

“I am not an accomplice of this gang but rather a victim because I have been swindled several times by this individual posing as a court president who called me every time to ask me for money as a mother and a fan, knowing my usual solidarity,” she said in a post published on her Facebook page.


The businesswoman said she had filed a complaint ine month ago to demand for justice amid frequent calls for help from the so called State Attorney.

“it’s been a month now and the investigation is going on. It was only yesterday when I was interviewed that I knew it was a man all along.”

A certain Robinson Piffor, an entertainer is in jail due to the influence of this gang, CNA learned.

In the past, CNA has interviewed several persons who complain about calls threatening their lives. Such calls are often emanating from prison. Prisoners have developed means to extort money from unsuspecting people, putting them on daily pressure.
