Cameroon Anglophone Crisis: Restoration Forces Attack On Ambulance Leaves Colonel, Others Wounded

Kumba, Cameroon-Monday January 22, 2018-11:20 AM Local Time (Cameroon News Agency) An Army Colonel, Emile Abeng Mbozo’o and two other military officers have been hospitalized after an attack last Thursday January 18 in Kombone, Meme division in the South West region by forces fighting for the restoration of the State of Southern Cameroon, Military sources have confirmed.

Sources say contrary to reports that the Chief Medical Officer at the military hospital in Douala and others had died, they sustained injuries and are faring well at the military hospital in Bonanjo, Douala.

Col. Emile Abeng Mbozo’o was onboard the military ambulance in Kombone in an effort to rescue military men injured in the confrontation with the armed men.

Kombone, Kwa Kwa and other villages in Meme division have recently witnessed tension escalating to violence, gun shots and torture and many have been counted dead.

After several military men were gunned by forces identifying themselves as Tigers of Ambazonia, the military went wild and razed houses in several villages leaving occupants to flee for their lives in bushes.

A woman, Pauline, 96, was roast to ashes while at home. What has caused racket on social media with users calling on the government to also call the military to order as they execute their duties.
