Douala: Premature triplets die in cardboxes during transfer to hospital

Premature triplets have died at Logbaba District Hospital in Douala, Littoral Region, while being transferred in cardboard boxes to a referral hospital, Laquintinie, which is equipped with incubators. The incident occurred around midnight on January 22, 2025

Sources, including medical personnel, confirmed that a woman arrived at Logbaba Hospital around midnight, showing signs of early contractions at six and a half months into her pregnancy.

Family members who showed up at this hospital, overwhelmed by the tragic news attributed the loss of their children to medical negligence.

Tensions escalated, resulting in injuries to some hospital workers during the ensuing conflict. Family members and medical personnel present at the time have been questioned by the Logbaba gendarmerie that investigations.
