Bamenda: Three die, others injured as security forces storm drug house
Three persons were killed and others seriously injured following a raid by security forces at a popular illegal drug joint at Old Town in Bamenda II Subdivision.
The incident took place breaking Tuesday January 7 at about 8pm.
CNA learned the security forces surprised the drug dealers after getting information about a suspected separatist who was present in the quarter. The suspect went to buy drugs, we learned.
In an attempt to escape from the raid, security forces open fire on the building, leaving three of them dead and others injured.
We also gathered from sources that others were arrested for further investigations.
Old Town is one of the neighborhoods that host drug dealers in Bamenda. During a security operation in 2024, one of the suspects told the press that the same security forces are the ones buying the drugs and also protecting them.
