The leader of the Ambazonia separatist group who declared independence of the North West and South West region of Cameroon on October 1, 2017, Sisiku Julius Ayuktabe,called for unity among other factions.
In a Christmas Day message from his Kondengui prison in Yaounde, the leader of “Nera 10” who was arrested alongside 9 others and extradited from Nigeria to Cameroon in 2018, urged all factions to unite because there is stength in unity.
“We must redouble our efforts at solidifying our unity of purpose and strong focused on the prize at the foot of the mountain,” Mr. Ayuktabe said in a message shared on his official social media profiles.
He accused the Cameroon government of lies telling , human rights violations, insincerity and unwillingness to resolve the conflict that started in 2016.
“We will remain resolute till we get to the negotiating table,” he assured.
The IT expert had lecturer said the wind of change against imperialism is blowing across the Sahel and Senegal, adding that this gives his people hope of challenging colonial legacies.
He also expressed hope that the election of Donald Trump would change the dynamics on world politics including in Cameroon. Reminding his people that Trump’s first term in office benefited them.
Sentenced to life imprisonment, the Nera 10 members who were brain behind the rise of the Ambazonia Interim Government, are still waiting on the governments of Nigeria and Cameroon to respect an Abuja Supreme Court verdict that asked the government to repatriate them to Nigeria, describing their arrest and extradition as illegal.
