MINAT suspends Five NGOs in Cameroon
The decision to suspend the five NGOs was signed on December 6, 2024. The Minsiter of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji accused them of not fulfilling financial regulations in their line of activities.
Prominent among them is Reach Out Cameroon, a popular Non Governmental Organisation whose founder, Esther Omam had once taken part in a UN security council meeting on the situation in Cameroon.
Reach Out was suspended for having illicit and exorbitant expenses above their level, undermining the financial sector by engaging in uncontrolled financial transactions, undermining the laws governing NGOs among others.
It is not clear I’d the NGOs that also includes the Network of Human Rights Defensers in Central Africa.
