Biya instructs government to fast track procedures to clear CDC workers’ arrears
According to reliable information, the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, has allegedly instructed the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze to fast track the procedure for the payment of arrears owed to some CDC workers.
This follows a recent strike by workers of the CDC in Tiko, Fako division of the South West Region.
We also gathered that, a high level government meeting was held at the behest of the President of the Republic in Yaounde days ago.
MINFI is expected to engage with a local financial institution to work out the payment details.
Our source also furthered that, the master plan to clear arrears owed these workers will become history in the weeks ahead.
It should be noted that, the government of Cameroon had agreed to take charge of all debts owed by the CDC including paying outstanding salary arrears of its workers.
The recent protest by CDC workers comes on the heels of a previous circular from management dated 9 October 2024, which outlined the corporation’s ongoing efforts to resolve salary issues.
The fresh action of the President of the Republic is hoped to remedy the escalating situation of CDC workers in Tiko and other parts of the region
