At least two people have died and many others injured in a fatal road accident along the Mbouda-Dschang stretch in the night on Tuesday night.
The accident according to witneses occured at a place called Moyang in Bamekoua’a village not far from the Bangang market following a head to head collision between a 70-seater interurban transport bus which was heading to the South West Region and a semi-trailer transporting cement bound for Bamenda. This left two dead with several injuries recorded according to accounts by the Batcham gendarmerie brigade commander, Chief Warrant Officer Enguene Jean Baptiste.
According to testimonies given by locals and some surviving victims, the shock started from a brakes failure from the semi-trailer truck which ended up finding itself on the opposite lane.
