The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, has called on Non-Governmental Organizations to produce annual reports of all their activities, including financial reports and details of financial assistance to their organizations. This initiative according to the MINAT boss, aims at enhancing efforts in combating terrorism and money laundering.
This was during an awareness workshop Paul Atanga Nji chaired on Monday, October 21 at the Mont Febe hotel in Yaoundé.
The main objective of this event was to inform these actors of the risks they are exposed to, and according to Paul Atanga Nji, non-governmental organizations must demonstrate transparency, fight against money laundering, fight against the proliferation of weapons, and step up the training process for their staff. They are also required to produce reports annually on their activities and to make it available to the competent services of the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
The documents have to state the funds received and the donors, as well as listing the methods of expenditure and the supporting documents for the amounts contracted.
