Buea: Hope Family life donates school kits to 89 children
As the back-to-school season approaches, parents are responsible for ensuring their children have all the necessary supplies for the upcoming academic year. Regardless of their status, every child needs the essentials to start the school year successfully. Unfortunately, while some parents can provide these necessities, others cannot.
In response, on September 21, 2024, HOPE FAMILY LIFE, through its annual “Hope Scholarship Program” organized a back-to-school donation for 89 vulnerable children. The beneficiaries included orphans, children of single mothers, internally displaced persons (IDPs), children with disabilities, children of persons with disabilities (PwDs), widows’ children, and other vulnerable groups. The donated items, based on each child’s class and specific needs, included school bags, books, pens, pencils, rulers, math sets, and crayons.
Despite helping a significant number of children, many more still face similar needs, including the need for tuition support.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this event, bringing smiles to the faces of both children and parents. However, we continue to appeal on behalf of these children for further support, particularly for school fees.” Hope Family Life noted.
